The port city of Kochi (also known as Cochin) was a major centre for spice trade for many centuries. The lure of spice brought the Greeks, Romans, Arabs & the Chinese to the shores of Kochi. It was later occupied by European powers (Portuguese, Dutch & British). This beautiful city is now an amalgamation of many cultures.
